I have always taken inspiration from the opportunity to bring out the beauty inherent in certain materials and to transform them into objects which bring the viewer to a new perspective about both the object and the materials.

Whether I am making a pill box, a lapel pin or a vase I strive to make a thing that echoes the traditions of metal smithing while also being a thing unique to itself. Every time I cut a piece of wood or solder a piece of silver I want it to be in the creation of something totally new. Because of this nearly everything I make is a one of a kind object.

My design aesthetic draws primarily from the forms I see in nature, but also from the ways in which man engineers his relationship with it - bridges, architecture or the way a fence winds across a hillside.

Lastly I want my work to be fun for people to experience. Though I loathe to use the word whimsical, I take a lot of pride in seeing smiles as a response to my efforts. So please peruse the work you will see here and feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.
